Our Roots

The Plant Buds started out as just that: buds. Lorie DeScala and Sheila Veizades began creating succulent and floral arrangements separately, both taking on custom jobs from various law firms, trampoline parks, and grad school graduation parties. It was their shared adoration of a local indie band, in their native west coast Peninsula town of San Carlos, that brought them together. Their unique take on classic Californian plant design and influences of their favorite Bay Area city earned Sheila a certification in floral design from Filoli Historic House & Garden.

If they aren’t taking in the great outdoors of the California coast, you can catch these two at your local Bay Area Farmers’ Markets selling their household-ready works of art. Their attention to detail leaves nothing to be overlooked, which can be reflected in the long and healthy lifespans of the succulent arrangements they create. The Plant Buds also take pride in the relationship they create with their clientele and even provide “Checkup Services” if your arrangement needs a theme change or even a replant! Creating the best arrangement for you is the personal oath they took so you can rest assured that your very own Plant Bud will be nothing less than spectacular.
